EasyDig® Modular Circular Trench Cage System
Complete underground utility repairs faster, safer, and with less restoration using the EasyDig® Modular Circular Trench Cage System. Designed specifically for hydrovac excavation and confined repair work, EasyDig provides a practical alternative to traditional trench boxes by creating a compact, circular excavation that minimizes surface disruption while maintaining a safe work environment.
Unlike conventional shoring systems that often require large excavations, the EasyDig system allows crews to excavate only where it's needed. The modular design is lightweight, easy to transport, and quick to assemble, making it ideal for municipalities, utility contractors, water departments, and infrastructure maintenance crews performing repairs on curb stops, water mains, hydrants, valves, and other underground utilities. The EasyDig system is engineered to align with OSHA excavation standards and Australian shoring standards and features published tabulated data for proper application.
Available in multiple diameter and depth configurations, each cage is built from modular sections weighing less than 50 pounds that connect together with four retaining clips, allowing crews to safely install the system as excavation progresses. Standard features include integrated ladder steps, lifting hooks, a storage/toolbox compartment, and QR code access to operating information and tabulated data.
Why Choose EasyDig?
Traditional trench boxes often require larger excavations, more restoration, additional equipment, and larger crews. EasyDig was designed to help reduce excavation size while improving efficiency during underground utility repairs.

Proven in the Field
EasyDig isn't just engineered for utility work—it's being used by municipalities to reduce labor, restoration, and project costs.
According to the City of Saskatoon, switching to EasyDig helped:
- Reduce crew requirements from 7–9 workers to a hydrovac operator and two laborers
- Reduce typical curb stop replacement time from approximately 5 hours to about 3 hours
- Maintain a consistent 50-inch excavation that minimizes restoration
- Complete up to three replacements during a single workday
- Recover the system's purchase cost in approximately 4–5 uses through operational savings
