Dual Wireless Monitoring for Sewer Inspection and Field Equipment
The Hollyland HL-PYRO 7 KIT includes two Pyro 7 wireless transceiver monitors, creating a flexible video-monitoring system for sewer inspection, hydro excavation, vacuum truck operations, equipment demonstrations, and field training.
Each Pyro 7 combines a 7-inch touchscreen monitor, wireless video transmitter, and wireless receiver in one portable unit. Configure one monitor as the transmitter near a compatible sewer inspection system or equipment camera, then use the second monitor as a wireless receiver at the operator station, service vehicle, customer viewing area, or another location around the jobsite.
The two-monitor configuration eliminates the need to purchase a separate transmitter and receiver for many applications. Because both monitors can switch between transmitter and receiver modes, crews can configure the system around changing equipment and monitoring requirements.
Each Pyro 7 features a bright 1,500-nit touchscreen, HDMI and 3G-SDI connectivity, SD card video recording, image-analysis tools, and dual-band wireless transmission. The system provides an advertised line-of-sight range of up to 1,300 feet with approximately 60 milliseconds of transmission latency.
Compatibility notice: The Pyro 7 Kit does not include a sewer inspection camera or equipment camera. A compatible HDMI or SDI video source, appropriate cables, batteries, mounting hardware, and other accessories may be required.
Why the Dual-Monitor Kit Works for Range Supply Customers
Create a Complete Wireless Monitoring Pair
The kit’s two Pyro 7 monitors can be configured as a matched transmitter and receiver:
- Connect the first Pyro 7 to a compatible sewer camera or equipment camera through HDMI or SDI.
- Set the first monitor to transmitter mode.
- Set the second monitor to receiver mode.
- View the live video feed from a separate location without running a long video cable across the jobsite.
Keep One Monitor Near the Equipment
The transmitting monitor provides a local screen for the technician operating the sewer camera, hydro excavation equipment, or other video source.
This allows the technician to view the connected camera feed while the same video is sent wirelessly to the second monitor.
Give Supervisors or Customers a Separate Display
Place the receiving monitor with a supervisor, customer, trainer, or crew member. The second screen can display the live feed without requiring additional people to gather around the primary inspection console.
This arrangement can be especially useful for:
- Customer sewer inspection reviews
- Municipal project oversight
- Hydro excavation training
- Equipment demonstrations
- Remote jobsite supervision
- Maintenance instruction
- Trade show displays
Record Video at the Jobsite
Each monitor supports SD card recording and playback. Crews can capture compatible video for customer documentation, operator training, equipment demonstrations, maintenance records, or internal review.

Suggested Sewer Inspection Setup
Monitor 1: Transmitting Station
Connect the first Pyro 7 to the HDMI or SDI output of a compatible sewer inspection system. Position this monitor near the inspection operator for local viewing and system control.
Monitor 2: Receiving Station
Place the second Pyro 7 at a customer viewing area, service vehicle, supervisor station, or another convenient location. The second monitor receives and displays the live video feed wirelessly.
This setup gives the operator and customer separate screens while reducing the need for long video cables between locations.
Suggested Hydro Excavation Setup
A compatible camera can be positioned to observe the excavation point, vacuum boom, hose, debris tank area, or another difficult-to-view portion of the operation.
Connect the camera to one Pyro 7 and configure that monitor as the transmitter. Use the second Pyro 7 as a portable receiving monitor for the operator, supervisor, spotter, or trainer.
The Pyro 7 Kit is a video-monitoring system, not a certified equipment-safety system. It should not replace required spotters, mirrors, alarms, direct operator visibility, or purpose-built vehicle safety cameras.
Transmitter, Receiver and Monitor Functions
Transmitter Mode
In transmitter mode, the Pyro 7 accepts a compatible HDMI or SDI video signal and sends it wirelessly to supported Pyro receivers. The transmitting unit’s integrated screen also displays the connected video locally.
Receiver Mode
In receiver mode, the Pyro 7 receives and displays video from a compatible Hollyland Pyro transmitter. It can also supply video to supported external HDMI or SDI equipment.
Standalone Monitor Mode
Either Pyro 7 can function as a field monitor for compatible equipment connected directly through HDMI or SDI, even when wireless transmission is not required.
Operating Modes
Smooth Mode
Smooth Mode prioritizes lower delay and wireless stability. This mode may be useful when monitoring:
- Moving equipment
- Vacuum boom operation
- Hose deployment
- Hydro excavation activity

- Recording demonstrations or training material
Broadcast Mode
Broadcast Mode allows a compatible Pyro transmitter to send video to as many as four supported receivers.
The two included monitors can form the foundation of an expandable system. Additional compatible receivers may be added for supervisors, operators, trainers, or customers.
The maximum advertised range is approximately 650 feet line of sight when Broadcast Mode is enabled.
Dual-Camera Monitoring
The Pyro 7 platform supports fast switching between two compatible, pre-paired camera feeds. This feature can help crews monitor multiple areas without repeatedly disconnecting and reconnecting video equipment.
Potential configurations include:
- Sewer camera feed and exterior work-area camera
- Vacuum boom camera and hose reel camera
- Excavation camera and truck-mounted overview camera
- Equipment controls and active work area
- Two views of an equipment demonstration
Dual-camera operation requires compatible transmitters, matching video settings, proper grouping, and supported operating modes.
Image-Analysis Tools
The Pyro 7 includes professional monitoring tools that can help technicians evaluate an incoming video feed. Available functions may include:
- Focus peaking
- Waveform
- Histogram
- False color
- Zebra patterns
- Image zoom
- Frame markers
- Look-up table support
- Image flipping
- Aspect-ratio controls
These tools assist with video evaluation but do not automatically diagnose pipe defects, identify buried utilities, detect hazards, or determine equipment condition.
