Radiodetection C.A.T4+ & Genny4 Cable Avoidance Kit
The Radiodetection C.A.T4+ & Genny4 Cable Avoidance Kit provides a complete solution for locating buried pipes and cables before excavation. Combining the C.A.T4+ Cable Avoidance Tool with the Genny4 Signal Generator, the system gives operators both passive utility detection and active signal tracing capabilities for more confident pre-dig locating.
The C.A.T4+ features multiple detection modes, depth measurement, and StrikeAlert™, while the included Genny4 can apply a detectable signal to buried utilities for more deliberate tracing and identification.
Complete Cable Avoidance System
The C.A.T4+ can search for naturally occurring signals from underground utilities as well as signals generated by the included Genny4.
Avoidance Mode provides a rapid initial survey by simultaneously searching for Power, Radio, and Genny signals. Operators can then use the individual locating modes to further investigate detected utilities.
Pairing the C.A.T4+ with the included Genny4 expands the system's capabilities by allowing a signal to be applied to a conductive pipe or cable for active tracing.

C.A.T4+ Cable Avoidance Tool
The C.A.T4+ serves as the system's receiver and can identify signals associated with underground pipes and cables.
Its different locating modes allow operators to search for naturally occurring Power and Radio signals or actively trace the signal produced by the Genny4.
StrikeAlert™ provides an additional warning when a shallow utility is detected, helping alert the operator to potential hazards close to the surface.
Genny4 Signal Generator
The included Genny4 Signal Generator expands the capabilities of the C.A.T4+ by applying a locating signal to underground utilities.
Rather than relying exclusively on passive signals, operators can use the Genny4 to actively trace conductive pipes and cables with the C.A.T4+. The manufacturer's listing specifies that the Genny4 includes a direct connection lead and earth stake.
