The Wire Cage Style Nozzle Extension is used between the end of the jet hose and the nozzle. This extension minimizes nozzle wear, helps center the nozzle in the line and eliminates the possibility of running up a lateral. It also adds a safety feature of preventing the nozzle from double backing on itself and coming back out the manhole.
